Outdoor Training
Physical fitness is one of the most important aspects of the selection process in the Defence Services, whether for officer entry or other ranks. A candidateβs strength, stamina, endurance, and mental toughness are tested at every stage. Therefore, structured outdoor training plays a vital role in developing the overall physical fitness and discipline of cadets.
At Bwales Maritime & Defence Academy, physical training is conducted daily through systematic planning under expert supervision. The training program is designed to build strength, agility, confidence, and fighting spirit in every cadet.
The following physical activities are conducted regularly:
Morning Physical Training (PT) β Running, warm-up exercises, stretching, and endurance drills
Long-Distance Running β To improve stamina, lung capacity, and mental resilience
Obstacle Training β Wall climbing, rope climbing, balance beams, zig-zag runs, and jumping drills
Strength Training β Push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, squats, and core workouts
Parade & Drill Practice β Improves posture, discipline, coordination, and command response
Battle Physical Efficiency Tests (BPET) Preparation
Group Tasks & Team Exercises β To build leadership, cooperation, and team spirit
